MANUFACTURE BACKPACKS USING BELTS REMAINS

The waste recycling and its conception as resource is increasingly considered in the society and the business. The case study that we present consists of a test conducted between two companies, Bymyeco and Elastic Berger.

Bymyeco is a company specialized in the development of socio-environmental projects that is dedicated to the design and sale of products made by social foundations from recycled materials. It carried out various projects in which waste from textile industry represented an important source of resources for the elaboration of new products.

Currently it is engaged in a project of manufacture backpacks with recycled materials. The company found support in Elastic Berger, through the sustratorecurso.com platform, to carry out a pilot test. Elastic Berger, dedicated to the manufacture of ribbons (100% polyester) for automobile safety belts, has provided a small amount of rests to be used as handles in the backpacks.

This test demonstrates the important role of waste management in the circular economy, contributing to an efficient use of resources.
